Question about having to cancel PSs and when??

My DH and I will be in WDW next week, and I made several PSs for us, but what happens if we're running late that day or don't feel like eating a big sit-down dinner or something......If we don't make it for our PS, what happens?? Is it ok not to call and cancel if you won't be able to make it that day? Can you just not show up?? Thanks for your help, and have a great day!!!

Technically, yes, nothing happens if you just "don't show up"... but there are payphones with a free call to WDW to cancel your PS that may help someone who just walks in get a table... If you're not going to use it, take the 2 minutes and call and cancel your PS.

I would certainly call and cancel if you know that you are not going to make them.

Call and cancel - your cancellation could be someone else's "dream" dinner or "yummy" lunch or "delicious" breakfast. The people who get your PS or table may even see it as getting some good ole pixie dust

If it's convenient to cancel, then I would - but I certainly wouldn't get stressed about it if it wasn't. The PS system is specifically designed to cope with no-shows - that's why it's a PS and not a reservation.

I agree with canceling it. I had a PS for England for 7:30pm. We were planning to eat dinner and watch illuminations, but what can i say, things come up. So we cancelled. But I kind of felt good doing it. I knew I had just made somebodys day, by giving up our time slot.

I usual cancel the same day, unless I know earlier I won't use it.

That said, it isn't the rudest thing in the world if you forget or can't get to a phone. As said above, the ps system was designed to account for no-shows. The same system is also responsible for having to be seated 45 minutes after checking in for a ps (happened to me many times in only two trips.) Can't compain, that is the system.
