I know this is probably a silly question but I have naturally curly hair which I straighten. When I am in WDW in the summer I can not wear it down because it will curl and frizz up if I even try to straighten it. What will the air be like on the boat itself when I am out in the open? I want to know if I should even bother to bring my straightener or if that is just one less thing I need to pack. :)

We've never done a Caribbean cruise where it hasn't been at least 60-90 percent humidity. I just did a quick search at Weather.com and typed in Grand Cayman...it is 70 percent humidity as of 6pm EST and Cozumel Mexico is 78 percent humidity. If humidity makes it go nuts I wouldnt even bother with bringing the straightener stuff. I really think once you get on deck the humidity will make it frizz

Just my opinion however

You may want to think about going to a salon in your town before you leave and getting your whole or part of your hair done in corn rows, that way it is up and out of your face and looks fabulous and you don't have to worry. Have fun and good luck!!

goin2disneyagain I am so glad you asked this question. I too have long nat. curly hair with the frizz thing in high humidity. I didn't even think about that on the cruise. I guess I'll have my hair braided before I go. Maybe Have the salon on board "fix" it for formal night. DO NOT FORGET TO PUT SUNTAN LOTION ON THE PARTS IN YOUR HAIR!!!!!SUNBURNED SCALP!!!!!! OUCH!!!!!!!:crazy2:

I have the same sort of hair.

Don't bother to bring it...I did and it wasnt worth using it even once. The wind alone is enough to make you nuts.
