Hello! I am considering a cruise during fall break in October (occurs the week during Columbus Day) and wondering if there have historically been any GT rates offered during this timeframe and whether it is likely unlikely to be offered since it is already Aug 1 and no GT rates have been offered yet. Does anyone have experience or info on whether we may expect GT rates still for mid October or if that is really unlikely at this point?

I watched GT rates for months before the fall sailings last year on the fantasy. They were few and far between. Throw in a holiday and I would think that would lessen the chances. If you do see something, book it. Sometimes the GT rates will only hang around a couple days.

What port are you looking to sail from and what length of a cruise are you looking for?

PC or Ft Lauderdale, any cruise length during that week. There are several cruises on the Fantasy, Wish and Magic and no GT rates available on any of them so far. I am looking for any experience people may have had in the past on whether GT rates have ever been offered for this Columbus Day timeframe, and whether it is likely that since we are now just over 2 months out it is at all likely that the rates will be offered. I know GT rates vary but looking for experience on this particular timeframe in the past.

You might want to check again. looks like there might be some leaving on Saturday the 12th and going over the Monday holiday.

That’s Fall Break for schools in North Alabama. Possibly also in other areas that start in August.

On Disney Cruise Line Blog, posted July 29, they posted Military and FL Resident rates on the Wish through Sep 20.

The September sail dates were added at the beginning of July.

I think there’s a possibility of October dates being added this week. If it’s going to happen.

And I would think GT rates come out at same time as these discounts.

Keep your eyes open and chin up! 🤞

Thanks, yes I check the Disney Cruise site and the Mousesavers site regularly, and have done so this entire year so pretty sure no GT rates have been issued for that week in October at this point. Mainly wondering if anyone had seen GT rates for this timeframe in previous years.

GT rates can happen for any kind of cruise, and appear at any point from several months before the cruise to several weeks before the cruise. I've sailed GT cruises during Christmas week, over New Year's Eve, in the summer, etc. There is no time when they can't appear, and no time when they're guaranteed to appear.

I booked a *GT rate two weeks ago for the Oct. 4 Wish cruise. Those rates are no longer available for that cruise.

I saw that rate. But I’m looking for the week that includes Columbus Day - however realize the discounts may not be offered since it’s a holiday week plus fall break for many areas so cruises may be already pretty full

I’ll keep looking just in case !

If you are looking at a cruise and you think it's really overpriced than probably other people think the same and you might see a GT rate. Like other have said It's random. I booked a cruise in March out of San Diego and there was never a GT rates, but the price was reasonable to start with for a Disney cruise. It did sell out.

If you haven't cruised Disney a lot you probably cant gauge what cruises won't sell and which ones won't. You also won't know which cruises are a good price and which one's aren't'. I've gotten pretty good at it over the years.

I wouldn't rule out Columbus break cruise discount. Expensive cruises sometimes don't sell. You need to look at the starting price and where it is now, how many rooms are left etc. There is a website that tracks this, but I can't remember the name. Maybe someone else knows.
