Question about getting around WDW... from SSR

We have never before stayed on site. We generally stay with my in laws but one of my very good friends has given us three days at the SSR... We are so excited.

But because we've never stayed on site I have questions regarding transportation.

1) Can we drive our car to the park rather than taking busses and get free parking??

2) Is it easier to drive to different resorts since there seems to be no resort to resort transport? We have reservations at both Boma and Chef Mickeys (different days). We'd like to take disney transport BUT if it's easier to drive we'll do it... And if we do drive can we park at the the AKL or the contemporary for free?

Any other tips would be appreciated. My kids are excited but I'm sort of dreading a bus with THREE little ones! TIA!!

Yes you can drive your car to the parks and not have to pay to park. Upon check in you will be given a piece of paper to put in you windowsheild that allows you to park for free at the parks for the duration of your stay.

Yes it is easier to drive from Resort to Resort. We have stayed many of times at SSR and what we do is take the downtown disney bus over to DTD and catch a resort bus there. Or you can walk to DTD it is a short walk. Yes you can park at a resort for free unless you are doing valet parking then there is a charge of course.
