I've spent a lot of time planning other aspects of our trip, now I need to figure out how we will get around. We are staying at the Polynesian, so getting to MK and Epcot will be easy...just hop on the proper monorail, correct? How do we get to MGM and AK? Do we have to take a bus? We will not have a car there. If so, where do we pick up the bus and how often do they run in late Oct, early Nov? About how much travel time should we allow to get to each park? (trying to plan PS for our meals)
I haven't been reading this board much, so excuse me if I'm repeating others' posts.
Lisa :)

From the Poly, the monorail will take you to the MK. Or there is a boat.

To get to Epcot, you either walk to the TTC for the Epcot monorail or take the hotel monorail to the TTC and transfer to the Epcot monorail.

For MGM, AK and DTD there are busses. The bus stop is pretty much right below the monorail station at the Poly. The busses serve all the MK area deluxe resorts...so they pick up and drop off in a loop. We had no trouble with bus service during our Poly stay, though it always seemed that the bus we didn't want would show up before the one we wanted!

We've been to WDW once w/o a car and twice with our car. We had no problems with WDW transportation, except for the fact that the DTD busses and the water park busses are very slow. When we have our car we rarely use it. The only times we do use it are when going to waterparks or DTD. If I were to hear reports of better bus service to these places I might not use my car at all.

I believe WDW has a transportation guide that gives approximate times on the trip from one area of WDW to another. Perhaps if you call WDW information they can send you one. I don't think any of our bus trips to the major parks has taken longer than half an hour.

Thanks Leslie,
Which number should I call? Is there a list somewhere online that tells all the phone numbers for Disney things...ie dining, recreation reservations, information, etc.
Thanks for your help.

Lisa:)

The standard 1-407-W-DISNEY should get you someone who can hook you up with some brochures...try the general information line.

No problem about my name...it happens all the time.

:D
