Question about getting AP hotel rate

DH and I are going to be getting AP for our trip in July. We need to wait to get them until we get there because we are going to pay with the HUGE stack of gift cards we have been getting from Target. They can't use all them over the phone, but can use then at the actual ticket booth. So, once we get the AP, do you think we could get the discount for a room at PPH at check in? I know if you book through Disney and then a sale comes out, that you can update your reservation with the sale price. Just wondering if that applies to AP rates. We are trying to save a little money if we decide to stay on property. Thanks!

You can book an AP Hotel Rate, any time---even before you have the AP.

You just need to show the actual AP at check-in(or some time before you check out), in order to finalize getting the cheaper rate!

If you can't access the AP page for rates, simply call and ask what the AP rates are for your dates, and book them. It's easy---we do it all the time!

If you want to get the APs now, you can buy them at your local Disney store. I purchased 3 Deluxe APs at the Disney store using 30 Disney gift cards obtained at Target.

At first, the CMs weren't sure if it was doable but they rang them up, slid all 30 gift cards and it went through no problem. I got a really long receipt showing each $50 gift card.
