Question about getting alcohol delivered...

I posted this on the tips board also, but wanted to ask here, too: I was going to have Garden Grocer deliver some wine to our hotel, along with some snacks for the kids, but I was hoping it would get there before us, but on the wine it says "ID Required". Do they need me there? We were hoping to get to the hotel, drop our stuff, and head to MK. Will I need to be there for the grocery delivery if I'm getting wine? TIA!

I think when alcohol is involved you have to be there to accept the delivery as they don't want to deliver to a minor by mistake.

check out dizzy dolphin delivery. We used them in December and will again in July. They are awesome. Will go out of their way to get you whatever you want. They leave it with bell services (refrigerate or freeze what needs that). Then you just call down like you would luggage for it to be brought to your room. Easy Peasy. We ordered some wine and did not need to show an ID.

Call Garden Grocer. You might be able to fax your ID to them.

That's what I did when I ordered wine from GG. I took a photo of my ID and uploaded to the site so everything could be delivered before we arrived.

We ordered a case of beer from garden grocer last September. After I placed the order there was a place on the site (I think under your account) to upload your drivers license. The beer along with all our other food was there at the resort waiting for us when we arrived.

Might they just hand it to Bell Services and check their ID?

Yes - just upload ID in advance. I've never had problem getting alcohol delivered with Garden Grocer and the delivery always gets to the hotel before I do!

We have previously just sent Garden Grocer a copy of one of our ID's, and liquor was left with Bell Services along with other groceries, no problem!

Here is an email from garden grocer as I emailed them with this exact question on Thursday

Good morning,

We will just need you to send us a front copy of your ID to provide proof of age. There are a few ways you can submit this to us:

-Fax it to (352)432-3938

-Upload it through the website- in "My Account"

-Or email it to info@gardengrocer.com

Also, keep in mind that bell services will also check your ID when you pick up your order or have them dropped it off to your room.

We just order from GG & never had to show an ID. It all sat at POR bell service till we called to have it delivered. We were all adults - maybe that shows on the reservation but we weren't carded at all.
