Question About Free Dining, MYW Tickets, and Annual Passes

I hope this is the right place to ask this question! If it isn't, please let me know the right forum to ask

MY DH and I are booked for FD with the required MYW ticket (We have a 2 day ticket w/ PH and WPM). We are also recent Florida residents and would like to convert our tickets to a Florida resident AP (we are looking at the "Disney Weekday Select Pass" since we never go to the parks on the weekend, and purchasing a water park AP). Is it possible to convert our tickets to this kind of AP and still retain our FD? I thought I read in recent FD forum that this is possible, but would like to confirmation.

From reading the DIS, I know you can do this, but I'm not sure of the way to do it. It would probably be better over on the theme parks board, but give it a day or two, and someone will probably be along here to give you the ins and outs of how to do it.

Your 2 day ticket won't activate until your check in day. You won't lose your free dining since your fulfilled the requirement when you purchased the ticket. As far as bridging the 2 day ticket to buy a Florida resident AP, you would have to ask the expects on the Theme Park forum. I know that you can bridge the ticket to a regular AP. You just need to use the ticket once so that you can get the full value of the ticket at the current price. But I'm not sure if it is the same the Florida resident AP.
