Hello! I'm hoping someone can help me strategize here.

It's our first trip to WDW - we'll be going 11/26 to 12/4. On our first full day we'll be doing AK in the morning and Epcot in the late afternoon/evening. I was thinking about just making sure we hit up AK at RP and doing everything without a FP. Instead, we'd use all our fast passes at Epcot that afternoon. It's going to be the end of Thanksgiving weekend and the crowd levels are about a 5 that day.

Also, just for context, we're only going to do AK that one day, from RP until about 1pm. We were going to do Epcot for 1.5-2 days (we're three adults and two kids, ages 9 and 5).

Does this make sense? I had read that you can probably get away with doing AK in one day, with no FP if you're there early. Thanks very much!

We did the same exact strategy and we went the same time last year. You are spot on with your strategy.

/We do it differently! We use fp at the morning park, go back the resort to rest, then we decide where we want to go in the evening. Sometimes it is Disney springs, or another park. We are 2 adults who are morning people. We also like the freedom to pick where we want to go in the evening.
If there is an attraction we really want to do, we wait in line. Most of our must do attractions are done on that park's day in the am, though.
This works for us, but in your situation your plan sounds fine.

We did just this last week. We did AK at rope drop on a EMH morning. Got everything done by 11:30 or so. I had our FP scheduled for MK for the evening. It was so nice showing up at MK at 6:00 and having FP ready to go.

Awesome. Thanks everyone. I figured since we're doing rope drop, we can probably do everything at AK without a FP. The parks will still be a bit busy so I'd rather save them for later in the day when we hit up Epcot before dinner.
