Question about flying with kids

I myself have flown recently but have not flown with my children post 9-11. Can anyone tell me what type of id if any the airlines require for kids? Last time I flew with them we didn't need anything since they were with me. Thanks in advanced.

No ID is required for under 18 years old. The only time you would need something is if you are holding an infant on your lap and not buying a ticket for them, you would have to prove they were under 2.

Thanks so much for this info, I was beginning to think I was going to have to get my kids id's made at the dmv!
