My family is going to WDW in April and we have heard about the Barber Shop on Mainstreet. We were wondering if they did anything special for a first haircut. My youngest is 2 and she is in need of haircut for the first time so I am thinking about doing it at the Mainstreet Barber Shop and I was wondering if anyone knew anything about it...do they do anything speical for a first haircut? Reviews of haircuts done there. Stuff like that.

thanks

While this is vague - I do know they do something for first haircuts. My friend had her little girl get her first haircut there and she said they did a real nice job, made a big fuss over DD and gave her something. I just can't remember what that something was, so sorry! I know it was something that actually said "first haircut" I'll have to ask her and post and tell you if no one else comes up with it.

We just got my 1 yo DS's hair cut on Main Street end of January. They entertained him by putting stickers all over his legs, arms, nose, etc. When it was done, he got a Mickey ears hat that has "First Haircut" embroidered on it. He also got a certificate about it being his first haircut, and they gave me some hairs to keep. It was really fun. It cost $12 plus tip.

Most definately do it! We had the best time! My DS was a little over 2 when he finally had enough hair to cut, (well actually it was long and curly so it didn't look bad, but I knew we were going to Disney and wanted it cut there!)
It turned out really nice, he got the hat, stickers and a little Mickey, plastic toy. Plus they had bubbles blowing and all. Just nice and fun! Reasonable too I felt! about $12 if I remember correctly!

Does anyone know if you have to make an appointment for that? How would you go about making an appointment? We will be there this summer with 21 months old twins and an almost 3 year old. That just sounds like such a cute idea!!

as far as I know they do not take ressies. But you could always call wDW reservations and see. Best thing to do is go when you first get to the park and then they will give you a time to come back if busy. We really didn't have to wait very long.

Thanks for everyones help. I will defenatly do it. I have also told my MIL about it and since she is going to be joining us on this trip she is excited to be there for her granddaughter's first haircut. It sounds like a deal as well as something really cool for the babybook. :-)

thanks,

We did this last Sept. with my son who was 18 months at the time. It was awesome!!! They do not take reservations, but we got there first thing in the morning and only had to wait 5 minutes for them to finish another little boy. They were so great with my son and they gave him a Buzz Lightyear toy to play with and they blew bubbles for him, he was in heaven! We video taped the whole thing. The give you the cutest certificate along with a lock of hair and the mouse ears that say "first haircut"! This is one of the best deals in WDW! I will always cherish this memory and it was fun for all of us!

Definitely make plans to fit this in!

Have fun!

We brought our then 19 mo DS for a haircut back at the end of January, and we all had the BEST time!!! He had a blast with all of the stickers and the toys, got a very good haircut and we got a ton of fantastic pictures! It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip! And it was very reasonably priced, for Disney! (Even factoring in a sizeable tip)
