Question about fireworks/dessert party at MK on Dec 30th

Trying to plan the day. I know they do fireworks twice, one at around 6:30 and one at around midnight. We will watch the early one for sure, probably the late one as well as long as the kids can stay awake. I believe last year, they did the NYE fireworks twice.

Questions:
1) do they always do the NYE fireworks twice or is the early show usually the normal fireworks (Wishes/HEA). If the latter, we will for sure have to stay for both.

2) is there usually a dessert party for both shows? Right now, only an early dessert party is available.

1. Last year was the first time they did it the way they did it so it's hard to say what they'll do this year. They were the same both times but that is not how it's been in the past. We watched the earlier show in our room (CR)

2. Yes. We did the late dessert party ourselves. It isn't offered to book as the schedule is set yet

Both the 12/30 and 12/31 early and late dessert parties are bookable - they became available at 180 days +10, which was a couple of weeks ago.

12/31 late party appears to be sold out already.

There are both Plaza Garden Viewing and Tomorrowland Terrace Viewing parties for both shows on both nights.

There is no “After Party” version of the party currently on the schedule for either night.

I remember last year they opened it up much, much, much later. Or something. Because there were lots of openings when we booked our trip which wasn't till October.

As @AngiTN mentioned, in the past they did Holiday Wishes with a NYE countdown tag as the early show, but this year it was the same Fantasy in the Sky with NYE countdown for both shows.

TBD what happens this year, but the dessert party times “imply” similar 6:30pm and 11:50pm showtimes.

Yeah, I was surprised to see them bookable at 190. Those special event night dessert parties have tended to almost always be added later and it becomes a fun DIS waiting and watching game.

It’s almost not fun when Disney actually does something on schedule!

Thanks for your help. Didn't see the late party available the other day but didn't think to click on the time drop down menu. Just clicked on the "search times" button. I was also surprised to see them bookable already, as I suspected it would still be a while before they would be available. We were there over Xmas last year and left just before New Years. The Xmas parties could not be booked at 180 days last year.

I decided to book the early party for the 30th. If it is not Fantasy in the Sky, we will watch the late fireworks as close to the exit as possible so we can high tail it out of there at the end and beat the crowd home.
