Question about finding DVC Time at a specific resort at a specific time

I don't know if this is allowed or not but thought I would at least ask. I saw that no "ISO" or Want to buy" is allowed in the Point Rental forum... Is there a place or resource where DVC people that have "extra days" booked that they are not about to use can go to "rent out" their points/reservation besides the "stores" like DVC Rental, David's, or here where there are many restrictions?

I have looked on eBay and Craigslist and poked around here, but there does not seem to be anything other than the posts in the trade/sell forum here as well as the "dedicated reservations" section.

I won't say what I am looking for, so I am not breaking any rules but just wonder if there is someplace to look if you are ISO something specific like one or two days at a particular resort at a particular time that will go unused because of a last minute change in plans?

Thank you and hope this made sense!

It sounds like a good idea, but in practice it is not a good way for a member to rent out the excess points. If you just rent your points yourself or through a broker like David’s, then you have access to a large number of people who are planning vacations. If you try to market a specific reservation, you cut the number of people who would be interested in your points drastically.

Posting confirmed reservations on the Rent/Trade board is permitted under certain conditions. The person posting the reservation must be the owner and it cannot be for a stay that begins more than 30 days from the date that it is posted. This prevents the board from being used by people making speculation reservations. If an owner has less than 30 days remaining until the reservation starts, they are in a position where the points used for that reservation will be placed under severe restrictions, thus it is more desirable to rent out than it is to cancel. Someone who regularly makes and rents out "spec ressies" does not want to wait until such a late date to rent their reservations out because there's a risk that they won't rent and the points will be subjected to those restrictions.

As you have found, making ISO posts or posting "spec ressies" is not permitted here.

Some DVC-specific message boards do permit members to do what you are asking. I can't post the names of them here. I had a confirmed reservation that I was not going to use and I attempted to rent out thru one of those message boards a while back and I found it to be not worth the hassle of dealing with people who wanted to low-ball me on my asking price. I found it was much easier to go thru one of the agencies and let them deal with the bargain hunters.

Thank you for your response! I can imagine that going through the agency would be easier!
