We were at WDW for Hurricane Charley and we have a extra day left on our ticket to be used before 2010.

We are planning on going to WDW in Jan of 2008. What my question is, DS will be 11 years old for our next trip. He was 8 years old on our last trip.
Will we still be able to use the extra day on "his" ticket even though he will be older? Or will they not even say anything about his age?

I have planned for us, 8 days {buying 7 day ticket plus our extra day} and 8 nights. Just worried about DS being able to use his extra day. Don't want to try to get into a park and they say he can't go in. We have a while yet, but have things going on in my life right now, planning a Disney trip gets my mind off those things.

TIA!!!!!

Disney's normal policy concerning a partially used multi day child's ticket is that it can still be used on a subsequent trip even if the child is now ten or older. They may take it at Guest Services and exchange it for an adult ticket with the same remainder on it at no charge to you.

Have your child exchange the pass, but he is better off not using that leftover day now. Buy an eight day pass for three dollars more. Save the leftover day for a day tripper in the future (if he can); a single day pass costs $65.

why do you have to use it before 2010?? :confused3 we were there for Charley also, and we rec'd tickets to come back another day--that doesn't expire. (we could choose that or our money back, took the non-expiring ticket since I had the money to pay for it last year!) don't mean to intrude, but just curious. ps---we were at ASMo too!!!

Thanks for the replys!!! No way for DS to use the extra day before our trip, we live in Ohio.

When our trip gets closer I'll call Disney and see what they say about using the extra day.

Thanks again!!!

That's alright, we weren't given a choice. Either we took the extra day and it expired in 2010 or we didn't get anything. We left the day after Hurricane Charley went through. Don't know if that had anything to do with it or not. They were so busy that morning that it took me an hour to just check out.

Wow! We left the morning Charley was coming....that morning I went to GR and got the tickets exchanged. Maybe cuz ours were 1 day, 1 park?? :confused3 Weird you weren't given a choice and we were? Maybe it was the CM ya got?? Either way, at least you know you're goin' back!! :teeth:

We tried leaving that day also, but didn't {security suggested that we should stay}. Our tickets were UPH and that was our last day on our passes. The CM went into the back and was gone for about 20 minutes, came back out and said that we could have new passes with an expiration date of 2010 on them and that is the best they could do. No money back what so ever! Either take the new passes or just loose that day. When we agreed to the new passes, again she went to the back and was gone for 20 minutes, then came back out with new passes for us.

One lesson learned on our first trip to Disney, do not go during hurricane season. :rotfl:

Are these hurrican passes stand-alone, or are they the remains of a length of stay unlmited magic pass?

As stand-alones, they can be sold on eBay.

Also, ask but do not immediately perform, what the trade up value of the old pass is. Take back and do not apply the old pass if they say an 8 day pass must have non-expiration but it is ok to apply the value to a non-expiring 10 day pass for future use.

Sounds like you HAD to take the expiring ticket because it was on a UPH....which usually expires your last day....so, I would consider you lucky! :teeth: I'm guessing because we just bought the 1 day/1park was why we were give the option! We left that day (BIL picked us up) and we were supposed to go to Ocala (MIL & FIL's house). We ended up in Winter Garden (I think) in Seminole Co. because BIL feared the traffic and we wouldn't make it to in-laws....so, that's where we ended up---everywhere tourists weren't......so, I can understand security wanted you to stay put! We usually go down to Florida around July 4th, but we were down the shore that week last year (such a good deal, we couldn't pass it up!) and ended up going to Florida mid-August.....first hurricane! So, not normal for us to be there that time of year, but we'll be in Florida from June 25-July 6 (& at Disney June 25-27) this year!!!

This was our last day on our UPH passes. DH and I figured they did our passes this way cause they were part of a package deal that we got through AAA.

We were there for Hurricane Jeanne :umbrella: in September. We were actually scheduled to fly home the day before it hit but airports were beginning to close and we were forced to stay an extra 2 nights. Although our UPH's were expiring that Saturday we were to fly home, we each still received a 1 day UPH that doesn't expire for 20 years. Our party consisted of 3 adults and a 4 year old. They also made my DD's UPH an adult ticket as well in case she didn't come back for another 15 years. ::MickeyMo

I asked DH to get our passes for me {had him put them up cause he has a better memory then me :) } and at the time I didn't realize that Disney upgraded DS and DD's passes to Adult. Guess I don't have to worry about anything after all. :)

Thanks for all the help!!! Next time if something like this happens I will pay better attention to the passes. LOL!!! :rotfl: After going through my first hurricane I was just worried about getting out and getting home. ;)
