Question about evening extra magic hour

Can anyone tell me how the extra magic hour in the evening works? In the morning, the CM's check resort ID before allowing entry into the parks. I am just wondering how they "check" who should be in the parks each evening.

From what I understand, anyone can stay in the park for evening EMH (use restaurants/ shops etc). But to ride the attractions you have to show your resort i.d at the ride.

Your resort room key card is checked at each ride.

They use to have writstbands which, in my opinion, is easier than getting out the room key each time.

Each time you approach the entrance of an Extra Magic Hour Attraction, the CMs will ask to see your Room Key, then "inspect" it to make sure it's valid. The later it is, the less they seem to care, i've found.
