Question about ETicket Parkhoppers

We are looking to purchase our parkhoppers, and we saw that Getaway today charges a service fee, plus you have to stand at the ticket booth to pick the tickets up. We did that in 2009 and lost 45 minutes of park time once we arrived. We would like to avoid that this year, especially since my in-laws arrive after the park closes, and we want to do MM their first day.

We saw online that you can get an eticket from disneyland.com. Has anyone done this? Do you just walk to the gate to get in and it is simple? We don't want to hold anyone up, but we want to be easy for ourselves. Will they give us a "real" ticket to use the rest of the week and for FP collection?

Yup, it is that simple. You bring your eticket to the gates, they will scan it, and give you a "regular" credit-card sized ticket for you to use for the rest of your trip.

Yes, it is easy. You print out your e-ticket at home, have it scanned at the gates, and you get your "real" ticket to use for the rest of your stay. That's how we always buy our tickets.

We had one e-ticket that didn't want to scan on our last trip but even with that I think it only took us 5 minutes to get through the gate.

Yes, as the others said, it's really easy. Our relatives have done this several times when we had APs and we just did it ourselves last month. We've never had any trouble with the e-tickets and it's great to not have to wait in line at the ticket booths.
