Question about Entertainment Club

I am a member of the Disney Club and it says that it's also part of the Entertainment Club.

My question is this, Is that entertainment club the same as the Entertainment Rate that you can get on the hotels?

I booked a room at the Royal Pacific at Universal Studios for $99 and now I am worried that it isn't the same thing.

Will someone that is in the Disney Club or that knows for sure please let me know so that I don't get to check in and they look at me like I am crazy for trying to use my Disney Club Card.

Thanks!

The Entertainment club that is part of the Disney club is NOT accepted for the discounts at the Royal Pacific Hotel. The Universal hotels have NO connection with Disney and therefore do not accept their card. You need the Entertainmnet Book that can be bought at www.entertainment.com or through a local charity. You don't need to have the Orlando book. You can buy your local book and use all the other discounts for restaurants, etc in your local area. Hotel discounts are the same in ALL the Entertainmnet Books. Don't know when you are going to the Royal Pacific, but the 2002 Entertainment Book expires as of Nov. 1, 2002. If you are going after that, wait for the 2003 book to come out. We usually buy ours through our school district.

Thanks for your response.

I just got off the phone with Entertainment club and they knew right away what I was talking about and said that I am eligible for the discount.

The lady told me that all I have to do is show them the little crown logo on the back of my card and that should suffice and if I should have any problems they will just call the entertainment people and find out that I am supposed to get the discount.

Had you tried to get the discount before and were turned away?

I haven't personally tried it, but MANY people have reported on the Universal Foum that they have been told at the Universal Hotels that they don't accept that card. It's up to the hotel, not the entertainment club. Call the Royal Pacific and ask them. Be sure to tell them that you have the Disney card and not the "Entertainment card."

Your Disney Club membership comes with a book that lists hotels that have an Entertainment rate. There are NO hotels listed in that book for either the WDW or the Disneyland area! The Swan and Dolphin DO accept the Disney Club for a 50% discount, but they are the exception.

Don't take any chances: go to www.entertainment.com and order a book!

Right now, many states are offering that book at discounted prices. Granted, they do expire November 1, 2002, but I just got a book for $5 and free shipping! I ordered it through
www.entertainment.com

I agree with all the other posters, get the E-Book to be on the safe side. It doesn't have to be the Orlando book (which is sold-out). Buy one for your area, if available. The online special is a DEAL, and for the rate you are paying @ RPR...I'd have the card prepared and ready to flash at check-in. I also have the Disney Card, but have never attempted to use it at the Loews resorts. Do you have a Loews first card? You should proceed to the site and register (or call them @ 1-800-563-9712). The entry level card offers nice perks such as: welcome gift, free use of health club, etc. Enjoy your stay at this Newest Loews Resort! ;)
