Question about Emerald Island

How well kept is the community? years ago we rented a TH at Windsor Hill and it was very nice, the next vacation rental we tried was in Indian Ridge and we were not happy with that location, houses were older, the park/play area looked so bad and the house we rented was a complete let down. I'd like to go back to WH but the prices are too high for what we want, a private pool (not splash). If you rented from Emerald or drove by please tell me how it compares to WH.
TIA

Emerald Island is very well kept up, actually better landscaped than Windsor Hills. We didn't use the community pool but I did walk around it, the clubhouse and playground and everything was clean and looked good. The last time we stayed there was in a 7 bedroom home last Nov. The resort is on par with WH for us since we don't use the community stuff when we have our own pool and games room.
Just remember that very home is individually owned so the condition of the house depends on how well the owners keep it.

Just to second Wanda's post. Emerald Island is a nice community and is kept maintained. Emerald Island tends to have a larger number of bigger homes.

Another option could be Windsor Palms (built by the same builders at WH). It is a smaller community, but has similar amenities (albeit that WP was built first, so they took what they learned at WP and build on it for WH).

your responses helped me made up my mind, had a place picked for next April in EI but the owner wants 50% deposit to hold reservation ...we are not so comfortable with that so gonna keep looking.

WOW! Yeah - a 50% deposit doesn't seem kosher to me either. Best of luck with your search - wish I had some advice, but I'm currently conducting a search of my own. :lmao:

Have a Magical vacation!

We rented from a guy at Christmas who has a house at Sunset Lakes (where we stayed) and one at Emerald Island. He was very good to deal with. We rented on short notice and paid up front. I don't know about a reservation that far out.

Sunset Lakes is next to Emerald Island on Funie Steed Road but is smaller and doesn't have all the extra amenities (gated though).

Could you post the name of the villa you rented? We don't plan on spending time at the clubhouse, gated or non gated community is ok as long as it is nice and somewhat quiet, I started to look in Sunset lakes, have some time to plan but since we are going in April I'm seeing several places already booked for our dates....spring break!

This is the place that we stayed in Sunset Lakes. The home is well looked after and is better than the pictures.
