Question about emailed park tickets

I got a park ticket delivered via email through Undercover Tourist. I linked the ticket number to my MDE account already and made fast passes. I have family currently at Disney. What I would like to do is link the ticket to a magic band and not have to exchange the emailed "voucher" to RFID plastic media at guest services. (I'd like to use that time on rides at rope drop, not standing in line at guest services).

If my family buys me a magic band today while shops are open and I link it to MDE overnight, can I use the ticket right away at the tapstiles tomorrow or will I still have to visit guest services?
