DH and I have never had problems with ear pain on flights.
DS2 hasn't been on a commercial airline before. So, I've decided to buy Earplanes for the trip.

Silly question. I'm taking a commuter flight from my little local airport to DC. Then taking a commercial airline from DC to Orlando. Will my son need Earplanes on the commuter flight?
DH said no because the commuter flight doesn't go as high as the commercial flight does, but I thought I'd ask here.

I'm not sure how many earplanes to buy.

Thanks.

Heidi

You can use one set for both flights. The key to using them is that you must put them in at least one hour PRIOR to landing. We use them for my 7 yr old dd all the time. On short flights, I just leave them in.

We give them to our kids, Dimetapp etc., and NEVER ahd a problem:)

my two year old won't wear them. My 8 and 6yr olds love them.
The two year old has some dimetapp and a lollipop. I also keep tylenol on me just in case.

I occasionally get sinus pain (particular behind the eyeballs) on some flights. I don't think I've ever had a problem on short commuter flights. Earplanes also reduce noise quite a bit so on long flights they're nice for getting peace and quiet.
