Question about early checkin?

We've never done the "really early" checkin thing before. I know you can checkin early without actually getting the key/ room and head to the parks....question is- if we leave our bags w/ the resort, what time do they make it to the room? I just don't want to come back that evening and not have our bags there. What's the advice?

I drove down in Sept and stayed at the CR. We arrived early enough to take advantage of the early magic hours. Check-in was easy. They held our luggage until the room was ready. I called the CM around noon and our room was ready and waiting for us. The luggage was taken to the room.

I did tell the front desk CM that we have two DD(4-5). They said they would put a "rush" on getting us a room. It was perfect timing. Kids had a afternoon nap and we actually enjoyed the entire first day.

We have checked in early and enjoyed a Park the first day many times. Some times our room was ready, most often not. We got our Keys to the Kingdom card, with our Park Passes and Dining Credits on them and off we went. They gave us a card with a number to call later in the day to see if your room was ready. At that point they tell you your room number, which is already keyed into your KTTK card. You can go directly to your room.
If you are using Disney ME as your transportation from the airport with the luggage handling option, your bags will be delivered right to your room. Each time we have done this, our bags made it to our room before we did!!! It was great.
If you store them yourselves with Bell Services at the hotel, you will need to call for them to be delivered. This level of this service varies by hotel category. It is a relatively quick delivery in a Deluxe resort, more of a wait at a moderate, and I believe on a delivery schedule (which could be quite a ways away) at the Value resorts. As an option you could go to Bell Services and claim them yourselves and take them to your room. If you use Bell Services it is customary to tip them, ususally 1 or 2 dollars per bag.

It looks like you are staying at Pop Century. They have Luggage Assistance instead of Bell Services.

This is actually a more efficient service for you!!

Check-in as early as you wish (6am is the earliest, i believe). Get your keycards, etc, and drop your luggage with luggage assistance, and head for the parks. Your luggage WILL BE automatically delivered to your room at some point during the day even if you are not there.

Also, on the day you check out, if you don't need to use the airline checkin service at the resort, call Luggage Assistance the night before and tell them you have xx number of bags to be picked up from room # xxxx at any time after xx:xx am. Stack all the bags by the door, (we always leave a few $s in tip on top), and head on out for the day. When you are ready to leave, bring your car around front, and call for your bags. No lugging them to the car!!

I almost always check in early. We resort hop as well (meaning we stay at more than one place on each trip) and always go check us into the new resort at 7am. Sometimes the room is ready, sometimes not. It always varies.

I have never had them just take my stuff to my room though, I have always had to call down to Bell Services and have it brought up...so be prepared for that. I don't think they are monitoring that your room is ready. ME users might be the exception though.
