Question about DVA and booking room only

Hey everyone-
Quick question. I am booking my room only reservation today!! I am planning on using my DVA to pay for the room prior to arrival. Do I still need to provide them a major credit card (I'm concerned they will charge it when I'm wanting to put the hold amount of one night and the balance on the DVA- I do not want the hold amount or the balance on my card if I can help it)? I don't have the total amount on the DVA yet, but can I put the hold amount of one night on it and then pay prior to arrival (I'm guessing on arrival it would be a problem to use?). Does anyone know how close to arrival I need to pay the balance? Thanks!!

You might want to ask when you are booking the reservation.

I know some place only required a major credit card to hold a reservation.
However, with Disney I've always had to pay-in-full the first nights rate.

As for the balance, I pay once we arrive. Disney has never charged more than the first night unless I have asked them too.

From what I've read on the Budget board and the DVA site itself, you cannot use DVA for room only at Disneyland.

This is true. You cannot pay for room only reservations at Disneyland using your DVA. It must be booked as a package in order to pay with DVA.
