Question about Dues

I'm still fairly new to the DVC and paid my dues in full when we purchased b/c they were prorated for the year and it wasn't a big chunk of change.

I got my dues statement in the mail and it has the monthly charge listed for each month. Does this mean I am already enrolled in the direct debit every month?

My loan is through Disney and it is direct debit, I don't remember if I told them to do the same for future dues... I have tried to call several times but since I am at work, when they are open it is hard for me to stay on hold until someone can pick up and speak to me so I thought I'd ask here before wasting any more time.

Thanks in advance for your help. I love how much information I have been able to get here and how much time it has saved me in regards to not having to call member services.

It sounds like you applied for monthly withdrawal from your account. The way to be certain is to (a) call and confirm, (b) if you have on-line access to your checking account, go in and see if anything has been withdrawn for January after the middle of the month; they will take first monthly payment in mid-Jan if you have automatic withdrawal, or (c) go into your on-line account at DVC's official site after the middle of the month and see if total amount owed for the year has decreased because a monthly payment has been taken.

If you don't want to wait on the phone, you can also send them a mail.

There is a contact form on the members website. They usually answer pretty fast.

Thank you! I forgot that there was a grace period for payments. I may just wait to see if anything is taken out.

Grace period?? Please explain... my bill says it is due Jan. 15th.. anyone know what the grace period is?

While the fee is due Jan. 15, you are only considered overdue after Feb. 15.

One exception is if you have a reservation starting between those dates you have to be current on your payments before you can check-in.
