Question about Dolphin Swim at DC

I booked dolphin swims for my children, but a non-dolphin swim package for dh and myself. While my children are with the dolphins, will we be able to go down and watch them or will we have to wait somewhere else?

You will be able to watch them from the beach. For most of the dolphin interaction they will be fairly close to the beach (20 to 30 feet?). For the actual dolphin swim they will go out further and be pulled back towards the beach by the dolphin. You should have no problem watching and, if you want, taking pictures.

I'd say it's about 30 feet away. You can try to take pictures, but you'll need a nce DSLR camera with a zoom lens like a 70-200mm. You'll get a free locker, and you could put your camera there when not using it. It's a very scarey environment to bring a nice camera, because it's beach sand and salt water. For all the other shots, a cheap underwater disposable is a good idea. The pro photographer will get the best shots, and it's probalby worth buying them, even though they do cost a small fortune.

You can watch, we have several pictures my dad took that we zoomed and croped on the computer and they look fine. The professional pictures are worth the money, I think.. I love my picture hugging the dolphin

My dad and brother weren't paid for the dolphin swim, it was just my sister, my mom and I - and I forget exactly how it came about, but right before our swim was over they let my dad and brother come in to have a family photo with the dolphin from their photographer.

How much are the pictures?

Last year I paid around $29 for 2 5x7 pictures, I did not like the rest of the pictures, so was not tempted to buy. My son and I did the swim and my DH (non-swimmer) filmed it all on his camcorder, which was brilliant. It's great watching it over and over.
