Question about dolphin encounter and other excursions.

I will be sailing on the Magic over Thanksgiving this year. We have Blue Lagoon booked for the earliest time slot (7:45 am). Because of this scheduled we can't schedule anything else during the day online. I was told that our only option was to go to guest services when we board and see what is available.

Has anyone done both Blue Lagoon and another excursion in the same day? Does BL really take 5 hours or is that just a time buffer?

We did the Blue Lagoon encounter in June. I think there were 2 time slots we could book; morning (9-ish?) and then around lunchtime.

We met in the movie theater, waited forever for everybody else to show up, then went outside and waited some more. Walked to another dock and waited for the ferry boat to show up. Then we took the ferry to the island (which does take awhile). I feel like by the time we made it to the island, it was 10 or 10:30. We did our dolphin thing, waited for our photos to be loaded..... And it was pouring by the time we were done with the dolphins. So we really didn't stay and "enjoy the beach". We hightailed it out of there on the first ferry out (12:30?).

We had to stop elsewhere to drop off Nassau hotel guests. Then we got dropped off at a different dock so we had to walk past street vendors to get back to the ship. We quickly made our way to Cabanas for lunch before they closed (it was after 2).

All of that to say - yes, it actually does take up a big chunk of your day.

Most everything in Nassau is a morning departure - like by 10.

I think most people who do the sea lions or dolphins at Blue Lagoon opt to stay and beach it there the rest of the day.
