Hi! We are traveling to WDW in September and will take DME from MCO to CBR when our trip starts. We are staying at CBR for 6 nights and then heading over to Disney's Vero Beach for a few nights. My question is...can we take DME to MCO when our stay at Caribbean Beach is over to go pick up the rental car from the airport even if we are not flying out that day?
I really don't want to pay for a rental car while we are staying on property and love DME experience so I want my kiddos to ride the bus.
Thoughts or ideas please....
Thanks in advance!!

Sure. No problem. You would just have to let DME know what time you want to be at MCO. Or, find a flight that departs about 2 hrs after the time you want to get to MCO. For instance....if you want to pick up your car at 11:00am, you would find a flight that leaves at 1pm. That would mean DME would pick you up around 10ish. Just give the 'pretend' flight info to DME when you book.
But, if I remember correctly, you're going to be backtracking. It's about 35 mins to MCO, heading north. Then, head back towards WDW to get to VB.
I would be very tempted to get the car the day before. Then head right to VB the next day.
But someone may have a different thought. I just remember coming into WDW from the south coming from VB.

We have done BCV for 5 nights flying into MCO and using DME to the resort. Then we rented a car from the Dolphin (Alamo I believe) for 5 nights at Vero. We walked to the Dolphin and picked up the car. We returned the car to MCO on our way back from Vero. The rates to rent on WDW property and return to MCO were very reasonable. We have done this twice.

I would not waste the time to go all the way back to the airport with all my luggage just to get a rental car when I can get a car onsite at WDW. There are two Alamo locations onsite with free shuttle service to their rental facility that would be a lot easier than going back to MCO. If you don't want to rent from Alamo, Dollar and Avis are located at resorts on Hotel Plaza which are across the street from DS. Take a bus to DS walk across the street to rent the car then go back to the hotel to pick up the family and their luggage.

Ok....I just reread the OP. I thought she wanted her kids to experience the return DME bus. But, that might not be the case. If that isn't an issue, I would just rent from the Dolphin, through Alamo/National. And, there are many other companies that have rental counters in the various Disney Springs resorts...for instance...Budget is at the Doubletree.
Returning to MCO to rent the car is going to cost you an addtl hour, at least!!! Leave the family at the resort, go rent the car, return to the resort, get the kids and the luggage, and head south!!!
