question about DME and two check-ins

I was hoping someone would know the answer the this question. We are thinking about using DME for our next trip in Dec. We plan to fly to Orlando on Dec 7 and check into the BWI for one night paying with cash. Then, on Dec 8 check-out of the BWI and check into the BWV for 8 days on points. Can we use DME even though it is not one continuous trip and we are staying at two different hotels?? Even though they are in the same buliding.

If so, who books this, MS? CRO? Thanks for any help!

Yes. It would be 2 DME bookings. When you book DME you need to provide a confirmation number. The BWI # would be 'just to BWI' and the BWV # would be 'just from BWV' you don't need to book round trips as such.

Book the BWI with CR and BWV with MS or at the DVC WEB site.

Ahh, thank you for the answer. We may be facing a similar situation on an upcoming trip, if we decide to fly.

It will not be a problem. Just remember, you need to make the ME reservation with the same place you made the room reservation. It sounds like these are both DVC so MS can do it all. We had our upcoming stay split - SSR 4 nights and POFQ 3 nights. I was waitlisted for SSR so I made a backup at POFQ with my travel agent. MS had to make a one way ME reservation for arrial and my TA had to make a one way for the departure.

Yes, that's the only slight "hitch". I went to AKL, then transferred to BCV. So I got 2 separate booklets from DME (and they came several days apart). One was just for my arrival to AKL, as it was a "regular" ressie. Then there was a separate, one way to the airport info from DVC.

I did this last trip ... but it went wrong somewhere. I only got my ressie for the trip to WDW.

ME to ASMU worked fine and a day before I left to go to SSR there was a note on the door saying could I provide them with my departure time, I just called and gave the departure date for SSR. No problem.

Thanks for the info. I plan to book the BWV part of our stay first, so I will ask MS about just doing a "from BWV" ME trip. When I call CRO to book the BWI, I will ask about just doing a "to BWI" ME trip. I hope it all works out. I think we really want to try ME this trip.
