Question about Disneyland Tickets

I've asked a few questions about my first trip to DL on this board, but I just thought of another one. I've been to WDW many, many times but never encountered this there either......

I'll be going to DL for the 1st time in October. I want to get a 1 Day Single Park Pass and a Ticket to MTOTP while I'm there. I booked my room at the Disneyland Hotel through the convention (got a killer rate). If I get a ticket to the park, can they just add it to my room key like they do at WDW or would that have to be arranged when I booked my room? It's not a big hassle, but I like only having to keep up with one ticket/key rather than both. Also makes for a nice keepsake after the trip. I would assume the MTOTP ticket will be separate like the ones to the MNSSHP are at WDW.

I'm super excited about this trip and the chance to visit the original HM, POTC, and Space Mountain!

Tickets aren't added to room keys at all at DLR. Not at this time, at least. It's been under a year that they've had Keys to the Magic (as they call them at DLR) where you don't have to carry around a flimsy piece of paper, along with your keycard and ticket, for room-charging and getting in for MM.

You'll end up with the keycard (with your name on it!) and your ticket as souvenirs. :)

My 5 year old did! It's how they know who gets to get in for Magic Mornings (as a guest you get in on each MM day during your stay, including checkin and checkout days, IF it's offered that day and your'e there early enough on checkin day).

Don't meant to hijack the thread...but... ;) I am going in Feb for the first time in many years - where and how is the best way to buy multi day tkts? Last time I went there was only the MK, so no hoppers needed.

Are discounted tkts to be found or is it best to buy at the gate or resort? And how many days realistically for a 5 ngt trip?

Thanks so much!! :goodvibes

If you are not purchasing a vacation package and just tickets (which may or may not be cheaper, depends on the deals) then buy them online. Even through Disney's website it is a lot cheaper than at the gates. If you are staying 5 nights and getting there at a decent time on day one and can leave later on the last day, I'd do a full 6 days. But that's just me. We are arriving around noon (6 hour drive), staying 5 nights and leaving in the afternoon (after 2 pm). We got the 6 day PHs.

Thanks, Shannon! We will probably arrive late morning and leave late morning to/from SNA, so a full 6 days would be too much...but 5 may be perfect. Thanks!

I'd buy online, using the electronic ticket option. Good discount, and you just print out the voucher that comes to your email. Take the voucher to the turnstiles at the gates. The CM will scan your printout and you'll have a ticket printed right there. It won't be the plastic "souvenir" type that you can get in vacation packages, but it'll work to get you in. :)

Also, any ticket over a one-day is a hopper. With a one day you have a choice between one park or hopper, but the rest are just hoppers.
