Hi,
I am completely new to this website so dont know if I am asking questions in the right section or not, sorry if i am wrong!!

I love Disney and we have been saving up to take our two girls (aged 4 & 7) in June 2009, we have been saving like mad as wish to stay in the Disneyland Hotel, spoke to them today and for 4 nights mon-fri would be £1451. The quote for Castle Club was £2340, an extra £900!!!

Is it really worth that extra money for CC?

(Just out of interest i asked the price for a Junior Suite and it was £4136!!:scared1: )

Thanks Funnymum

Hi funnymum . Elaine, Jackie, Elaine and Reid welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:

We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, DLP posting rules are here, DIS posting guidelines can be found here.

Just popping this in a separate thread as you'll get more replies :)

There are those that feel the extra is justified. For us I think of all the shops and lovely meals we could have for this extra so it would not be in our plans :thumbsup2

Hello Funnymum,

I think that if you go in high season, it might be justified by the VIP FPs you get (they allow you to "cut" queues to every FP attraction), but in low season... not so much.
Also consider that you could get a 3x2 (or 4x3, 5x4) offer for your dates, and they are not available for Castle Club stays!

Thanks for super quick reply and for posting this on a new thread Reid.

Cant believe CC guests dont get the same offer for extra nights, thanks for the tip ElenaP.

Hoping mid week in June out of school holidays might not be too busy so maybe no need for VIP fast passes, but maybe I am kidding myself!! People who have been there around 8-12th June please put me out of my misery, busy or not!!

:rotfl:

I _think_ (double stressed) that the first half of June is not too busy, and it usually it is not considered high season... but why don't you give a look at the Trip Reports section, and see if you can dig some June trip report there?

And I agree TOTALLY about the CC rooms being excluded from offers, but of course it makes a lot of sense (for Dis, that is ;) )

I think you should jsut go for standard DLH.

As your girls are young it's not like you'll need the FPs for stuff like tower of terror or space mountain, and magic hours which you'll get for staying in DLH will mean you can go on peter pan and buzz as much as lyou like for 2 hours as every morning!! :)

My 3 nights at DLH cost £790 (3 nights for 2) and CC would have cost over £1500!!! That's an awful lot of queues to skip!!!

Good point Torsie24.

They are two small and I am too scared!!:rotfl2:

VIP fastpasses probably wouldnt do us much good then!

Thanks

No problems. :)

Also, you do get one FP each for one ride per day as a guest at DLH. :)

So if you did want to do buzz or pp in the middle of the day you can do them once without a wait. :)

If you don't do roller coasters then IMO Castle Club isn't worth the extra cash. The FP you get every day for the DLH (valid only in the afternoon) will likely be enough for you as long as you make use of EMH.

When weighing up if VIP FPs are worth it, remember that there is only a 4 hour period during the day when hotel FPs can be used. They are not the be all and end all, I would say.

We stay in DLH every year and my opinion is it is def NOT worth paying an extra £900 for CC. The rooms are just the same. You will LOVE this hotel but be warned once you stay there you will never want to stay in any other hotel ever!!

I definately do not think you will need VIP FPs in June. The one fastpass you get (as well as the fact you can put your entry ticket in and actually get a fastpass at the machine therefore having 2 fastpasses at once!) will do you tbh esp if you don't like the scarier rides and your DDs are too little for them anyway. We found in 4 days, that we only used our hotel FPs once and it saved us 25 mins or so queue time. The rest of the time it was fairly quiet (this was late Sept) so the FPs weren't even working a lot of the time. This could well be the case in June...?

The DLH is lovely and well worth the extra cash imo for the location esp with little ones. Not so sure about the value of the CC tbh... I suppose like everything if it's really money 'off a duck's back' to you then go for it but if it's hard earned cash that you could spend elsewhere then I'd think twice.

We went mid-June two years ago weds-sun and the weekdays was ok but friday come it was hell!!! My advice would be to go mon-fri make use of the EMH and just enjoy yourselves:)

Never stayed at the DLH but wouldn't pay extra for more or less the same room... £900 would buy lots of meals (definitely lunch with the princesses at Auberge) and a few gifts/toys/clothes...

Thanks everyone for your replies and advice, have decided Castle Club not worth the extra £900 after all the reasons you gave!!

So today booked our trip next June for 5 days/4 nights in the Disneyland Hote standard room. :cheer2: So excited, just seems so far away!!

Congratulations! Your little girls are very lucky! princess: princess:

You have made a great choice! You are going to love it, I promise!!!
