From looking at the history of discounts on Mousesavers, the past two Augusts Disney Visa has offered package discounts for early to mid-December stays. Can anyone tell me more about what kind of discount this has been? I know it doesn't mean Disney Visa will do it again this August, but I'm hoping ... TIA!

good question . Id like to know to. I'm curious if it was a % off room and tickets or % off room and free water/hopper tickets?

:goodvibes The info was:

I just got off the phone. Their are no room only available and you have to include tickets, we have AP so that doesnt help. She did tell me there is an internet deal at CSR that was amazing. I didnt ask the numbers because we are set for WL but thought it might help someone else

Had a dining package with tickets for 5 days 10/24-10/29 reserved at POP wihout a code $1337.00. Pop not avialble for those dates so upgraded to SSR for $300 more using code ZQM. SSR was the only resort availble with the code. I have been calling trying to upgrade resorts anyway so this code came as a great suprise. THis is a birthday trip for my son and I so SSR will be just fine.

I'll called to check on that Disney Visa code, and I'm so glad I did :goodvibes:. I already had a room only with the AAA discount and my tickets from UT. The CM ran the numbers for me with a 1 day base ticket (so this would qualify as a package), and I saved $210.51. Here's the break down for those interested:

Our Dates are Oct 11-18
7 night Room Only Reservation @ Pop Century Preferred w/ AAA rate - 743.05

ZQL 7 night Pop Century Standard with two 1 Day MYW Base Tickets - 532.54

What is the percentage off with this disney visa code ????
Some people are reporting 15% off and others as high as 40% off.
I am just wondering ...
We have resevations for the AKL pool view bunkbed for Dec. 19-29 ~ four adults (39,37,15,12) with dinning and 10 day hoppers for $4333. Would I get a better deal with this new code????
Thanks for any help ...

If you have a Disney visa the only way to find out is to call and ask. You have nothing to lose

We will be at the WLR in December. Tried twice to see if discount was available to us. First CM told me that WLR was not eligible for the discount.
About five minutes later (new call), another CM told me again that WLR was not available. I had read that POR was available (at least for awhile), but when I called the second time, that wasn't available either. Need two rooms/deluxe -- two adults, four children. Also, right before I hung up -- the CM told me it was for NEW reservations only! Seriously! I did tell her that I had seen somewhere :rolleyes1 where people were saving $$$ on current reservations and she plainly said "Your are not eligible for this discount, unless you cancel and rebook at a value resort". This was at 2:00 pm and 2:13 pm PST , 08/13. And, yes . . . we are Disney VISA cardholders

We are booked at the WL for 11/16 - 11/23. I called yesterday morning and applied the visa code with dining to our ressie. They only had 6 nights available with the discount so our last night is a room only without dining. But we saved almost $700.00 and I am positive 2A, 2K can eat on less that for one day! The CM I spoke to said to keep trying to add the 7th night but this morning it still isn't available - I'll keep trying!

This code took our cost from $4133 to $3440!

From what I can tell from looking at everyone's posts, the discount makes standard rooms at the values about $49/night before tax (about $55 with tax) and the standard rooms at moderates about $99/night before tax. It doesn't matter if it is value or regular season (holiday season may be different, though). I didn't figure out the deluxes.

So, if you had a standard room at a value in regular season ($99/night), you can now upgrade to a moderate for free. I had POP in value season ($82/night), so for me to upgrade with the discount, I'd have to pay an extra $17/night plus tax. I chose to stay at POP and got $261 back (7 night stay). If you had a preferred room at a value in value season ($94/night), you can upgrade for about $5/night plus tax. Etc.

So, it all depends on the season and type of room you had/have.

and the posts go on and on!
HTH!

Thanks so much for the info, Seahunt! That's exactly what I was looking for ... and then some!! :flower3:

What's the quickest & easiest way to find about this rate if it shows up again this year?

We used this special a couple of Thanksgivings ago. After backing out the cost of the park tickets I figured our Sports room cost us about $30-40 dollars a night. Since we have no plans in the works we are hoping this years discount will be a good one. We would like to go back in early December.

There was also a room only discount for anyone last year that was annouced after the disney visa was announced.

Generally Mousesavers will send out a special e-mail when there is a newsworthy extra deals or discounts that comes out between newsletters. For example, I received a Hot Deals Announcement e-mail from Mousesavers this morning about the rumor of WDW ticket prices going up Aug. 3. HTH!

Thanks, I figured out I could update my subscription to include the Hot Deals, which I just did! That will help me a lot!!

Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
