Question about Disney Visa & gift card offer??

I got an offer in the mail today. Apply for a Disney Visa, and after I use it once, I will get a $200 Disney gift card. It doesn't matter how much I spend - could be $5.00. Has anyone done this?? Seems like a decent offer to me.

When I applied for my Visa a few months ago, I got an offer for 200 points once I made my purchase. Since it is a rewards card, they usually give you a point bonus when you sign up and use it which is slightly different than a gift card. Are you sure it is for a gift card and not points? We use ours for everything now and in just a few months we have racked up enough point to pay for part of our September vacation as well as our MNSSHP tickets.

Yes, you are right - it says "get 200 Disney Rewards after the first use that you can redeem for a $200 Disney Gift Card".

We applied for a 2nd one last year with an offer of a $100 GC. It was great!

Yep-I got the one last year for $100. Used it to buy the gift card and paid for our water parks & more upgrade!

I applied for my Disney Visa with the $100 offer and yes they do give you 100 reward point after your first purchase. It's VERY easy to then request the rewards card with the Disney Dollars on it. One suggestion that was made to me that I thought made a lot of sense. When you go to order your rewards card, you only have to order a minimum of $20 on it for them to issue the card. Just order the $20. This way if it gets lost in the mail then you're only trying to recover $20. It only takes a few moments to transfer the rest of your rewards dollars to the card online once you receive it so just transfer the rest when you need them.

I just got the $200 offer in the mail so now I'm wondering with all the issues I've been reading about with promotional balances vs current charges and how they apply payments if maybe it would be a good idea to get a second card so I can continue using one for all my daily charges (I pay it off at the end of the month so no interest ever) and then have a second one for my trips.

OP - on the offer you got, there should be a phone number and an offer code (small number of letters/numbers).

Others could then call in and take advantage of this...

Googling found the code would be "MK7". But the phone number is typically needed as well...

I have the invitation number & code, but then they asked me who it was addressed to. I would be glad to share it, but don't know if it would work for anyone else??

Yes I did it for the same deal. I signed up for the card and when I received it I put $100 on the card towards my upcoming Disney trip.

At the end of the billing cycle it showed I had the points to redeem for the $200 gift card which I did.

I received it within a week and applied the gift card towards our upcoming trip.

No problems at all.

My question is- how big of a purchase do you need to make to get the 200 pts??? All it says is, make a purchase???

Yep guy on the phone said I could go to the corner store and buy the paper and a cup of coffee and I'd get the points.

my mom got this offer sent to my address and so i called to see if we could get a card in my husbands name using the same promo and was told no. it has to be to the person on the invitation. would love to get one in my hubands name. mom's came to my address because i took her to disney for christmas and her name was on reservation but with my addy.
