I'm about to order my rewards card! w00h00! Can't wait for my trip. I do have a question.. I know I get, I think, 20% off all purchases from the Disney Store in Downtown Disney, my question is, can I use the disney rewards card? or do I have to use the Disney Visa in order to get the 20% off?

Another question... my rewards card, can I use it on anything and everything on Disney grounds... meaning at the Resort and Park Eateres? Basicly can I get me a refillable mug from my Resort and some :mickeybar from the Parks with my rewards card?

Thanks!

I don't know the answer to your questions, except I have never seen any of the ice cream carts take anything except cash. As far as discounts, the Disney Visa website should have that info. I think the rewards card looks like a visa card, so anytwhere they take visa, they should take the card. So that would cover the resort mug.

Have a great trip!

I know you can use it anyplace at Disney, including the resort food courts for your refillable mug! I think since the dining plan, most ice cream carts have scanners. If so, you should be able to use it there too. I think the discount at the World of Disney is 10%, I could be wrong on that. Have fun using your reward! :)

you can use the rewards card to buy a refillable mug and to buy food anywhere on disney property that uses a visa card. The only place I had a problem was japan pavilion where they sell the snow cone things. they only take cash. I believe that you can use the card also at the little carts that sell bottled soda and ice cream. they have the scanner thing there. I believe you have to use your disney visa in order to get the % off at the disney store in marketplace.

In order to get the 20% discount at the Disney Store in DTD, all I had to do was SHOW my visa card to the cashier. I was told I did not have to use the card to make a purchase and get the discount -- I just had to show the card. I did put all my purchases on the Disney Visa this year. Last year I used my rewards cards for purchases I made there. :)

Maybe it's 10% for AP, thanks for clearing that up, I'll shop there for the 20% off!

So you can use the rewards in the stores at WS? I want to use mine to get a pearl ring in Japan.

Oh so exciting! Just ordered my Rewards card! whippee!!!

Happy New Years guys!
Can't wait!

Thanks Again for all the replies!

It was 10% off at DTD last month..and no we did not have to use the card in order to get the discount. I was shocked how the CM were all asking if you had anything tha would get you a discount.

That's good, cuz I always forget to ask if I can get a discount with my AP or Disney Visa!

Where do you go to find out how many reward points you need to purchase park tickets?

Reward dollars are 1 for 1, so if the ticket is $125, you will need 125 reward dollars to buy the tickets.

Do you need to reach a certain amount to get a reward card? Like Discover card you can only receive cashback in $20 increments.

To obtain the card for the first time, you will need $20 in reward points. Also, allow 2-3 weeks for delivery of the card. After that, you can just call and add any other rewards to that card. I have even done it from WDW. However, keep in mind that the cards expire. If you order one now, the card and any points on it would expire in 12/07. However, any points not transferred to that card will not expire for 5 years. So, just be careful about what you transfer over. I personally do not have any trouble spending those points once I get there. :)

Thanks for the reply.

You can also just add them to the card through the website, as well as order the initial card from there. It use to be that you needed a min. of 10 to add to the card, but I don't know if that's true. I think I had 207 when I went to order the card, but just ordered it with 200, leaving the 7 for a few more billing cycles. Then right before our trip, I went online and transfered what had accumulated, another 34. I used mine all over the place--at stores, at restaurants, at the resorts. I actually used it at the Virgin Store at DTD. Just ask the cashier if they'll take it. Somehow I managed to come hom with $30.07 still on the card. But I'll find a way to spend that online at the Disney Store before the end of the year.

Oh, and some stores, like Virgin and Ghiradelli, have to use a special card reader, not the usual visa card reader, for the reward cards. So don't assume that if they take visa they will take the DRC.

they just changed the min from 10 to now you have to have at least 20...

It's 20 for the first load on the card and 10 for every load after that on the same card.
