Hi everybody, I am hoping to be able to take another vacation to Disney next year and have a few questions that maybe somebody could answer for me. The last 2 times our family has done a Disney vacation, we have rented a home. This time we decided the we wanted to experience more of the Disney magic and want to stay at a Disney resort. We would like to stay at one of 3 resorts on the monorail or the WL. Transportation is the most important factor for us. We will be going at the end of July. The less hassles with transportation, the better. That being said, I was wondering about a few things.

1. How convenient is the bus service from the Poly, GF and the CR to the parks not on the monorail, such as crowds, time it takes to get to the park, trying to get a bus back right after a park closes, etc.

2. How convenient is the water shuttle from the WL to Mk and the buses to the other parks.

3. Would AAA be the best way to go for a discount on the rooms/package (I'm not a member but would join for a nice discount).

Thanks in advance. Everybody is always so helpful.

Welcome! Wow, a tag already & only 5 posts!

We stayed at CR. We loved it. We took buses to MGM & AK. The buses were fine. I don't remember a long wait at all.

We found no problems with the boat from the WL to MK when we were there in June. Longest wait was roughly 12 minutes. We also had good bus service. The only bus mistake we made was in getting back to the WL from Epcot. We thought we would escape the post fireworks crowds by departing just before they started. The only problem is that it looked to us like the busses wait until the fireworks are over so we missed out on the fireworks for no reason...

As far as AAA goes, I am a member and like it primarily for the auto service and maps benefits. I don't know if it neccesarily makes sense to join just for Disney Discounts. I have noticed that Expedia often comes pretty close if not on the $ to AAA rates. You could always check for the AAA rate when making your reservations and get a membership if the savings are such to make it worthwhile.... steve c

Well we just got back from the Poly and just wanted to say that the GF, Poly and CR all share the busses to MGM and I also think animal kingdom, also the animal kingdom bus stops at blizzard beach too. So in the morning its pretty crowded, aka standing room only. Its not too bad. But if your lugging kids, strollers etc. be prepared. We also went to cont and wilderness lodge and ft wilderness and found no problem with the boat transportation. Just know your route, stops etc. Like the one boat goes first to wilderness lodge and then fort wilderness. You just have to plan everything if you are getting somewhere.
