Question about discount codes?

I've searched the boards and am just getting more and more confused. First off, let me say that I am NOT a member of AAA, but if doing so would save me money I'd be more than willing to become a member.

I've noticed many people saying that they will change thier discount code later if a better one comes out. Is that if they use their AA discount, or just a general public discount code.

If I book hotel, park admission and food online with Disney, and then in August, if good discount codes come out, can I use the new discount code or am I stuk with the rate that I paid.

Or, if I become a member with AAA, book hotel, park admission and food with them, and a better code comes out...does AAA just put the new code in and you get the price differece, or do they totally redo your reservation??

I am just SO TOTALLY confused!!!! Of course I want to get the best deal that I can....I'm just not sure how to go about getting it. We want to go the 1st or 2nd week of Dec 08 and would LIKE to stay at Wilderness. Any help??

Oh, also...when you book online with Disney, do you pay it all upfront or do you just pay a deposit. So so so many questions!!!

There is a code and rate board, at the top of this one, click there. You will get an answer from one of those experts! As far as payment, if you book a package (tickets and room), $200 deposit is due and the balance 45 days before arrival. If you book a room only, one night's stay is required and the rest at checkin. I am not sure that there is any easy answer to make it so you are less confused.
First the easy question, when you book your room, whether it is for just a room, or is a package with tickets and such, you only pay a deposit. The amount is different if it is a room only, one night pay, or a package, $200.
Next, you can almost always try to change your reservation if a deal comes along that you think is better than what you have. Sometimes a discount may not be availible for where and when you want, so you can't change. But sometimes you can.
If you book through AAA, then you need to talk with them about all your plans. If a new deal comes along, you need to go to them to see if you can get the deal.
You can book room only reservations with a AAA discount directly with disney. If you want a package with the AAA discount you need to go to AAA to get the package.
I have never gotten a package, always just get the AAA discount on the room and get the tickets from an online discounter. Seems to always work out best for us, but everyone is different.

By the way, one final suggestion -- look into using Dreams Unlimited Travel (they're affiliated with this website -- the Dis). I have used Dreams many, many times over the years. They have been absolutely wonderful to work with. If a code came out (for example, an Annual Passholder code) and it was applicable to my vacation, they would try to get the discount for me.
