Question about dinner package

As I am reading the boards it appears that you can use your DDP with the Fantasmic package at DHS. Can someone answer me 1. Is this true? 2. Is it 1 credit of 2? 3. Is it worth it? 4. Which restaurant would you recommend?

My family is myself, DH, and 9DS, 9DD, and 9DD. We have never seen Fantasmic and we will be there in July.

1. Yes, it is true.

2. Depends on which package. Hollywood & Vine and Mama Melrose are 1 DDP credit. Hollywood Brown Derby is 2 DDP credits.

3. Depends on what you feel "worth it" means. F! package includes an appetizer, where normally a DDP meal does not. F! package gets priority seating at F! Based on sticker price, the H&V or MM F! packages are good values on DDP.

4. Depends on your priorities. The H&V Minnie Dine with F! includes Minnie, Mickey and Goofy as a character meal, but is a buffet. Food is best at Hollywood Brown Derby, but is 2 dining credits. Mama Melrose is the middle ground on credits vs. food quality.

Yes it is true. You can use the DDP for the Fantasmic package. The three restaraunts are 1) Hollywood & Vine 2) Mama Melrose and 3) Hollywood Brown Darby. The 3rd one as well as the Minnie's Hollywood Dinner with Fsntasmic package are both 2-credit packages and the others are 1-credit. I would recommend either Mama Melrose or Hollywood & Vine lunch. No characters at Mama Melrose but I've heard it's very good. Hollywood & Vine lunch has Disney JR characters.

Minnie's H&V dinner is a 1 credit DDP, even for Fantasmic.

We have done both MM and H&V. I will admit I loved the dinner at H&V with Minnie and crew. The food was better than expected, and my son loved having Mickey and crew there. I loved having them dressed for the holidays, but I think they still dress up after the holidays too. We did run a little late getting seated, but had no problem getting to Fantastic on time. Have fun!

Do you always get the Fantastic pass for the first showing or can you choose a later showing (if there are two showings that night)?

Also is it one pass per person? The reason I'm asking is I'm thinking of reserving at The Hollywood Brown Derby. I don't mind the 2TS for DH and myself but my 6-year old is picky and probably will only want grilled cheese - no appetizer, just drinks water and probably chocolate chip cookie for dessert. I thought of paying OOP for that and not waste his 2TS. Thank you.
