Question about dining reservations

Do I need to make dining reservations months in advance like I know I did for Disney? Not sure how it works with U and IOA. Also, does Universal/IOA have an area like Downtown Disney? Thanks so much!!!!

No.Most times dining ressies aren't even necessary.If the mood strikes you , you can book them at opentable.com , anywhere from 30-90 days in advance ( it varies with the dining venue.Universal doesn't own or operate many of the restaurants )
Citywalk is similar to Downtown Disney/ Pleasure Island.It is a venue of clubs , restaurants and shops, a movie theater and mini golf.It also connects both parks
