Do you have to get the dining plan for the number of nights you are going to be staying or can you get less? We are staying for 8 nihgts, but I know we wont need that much food so can we get it for like 6 nights? Also, can you split a meal between 2 people or kids if you are on the dining plan? Thanks

I know for sure that you can split a meal. I am fairly sure that you have to get the Dining Plan for the same number of nights that you are staying for.

However, you could always book a reservation for so many nights and get the dining plan for that part, then book a second reservation for the remaining nights, without the dining plan. I am assuming you can do this. Maybe others who've done this or tried this will answer too :)

P.S. The only problem I can see with booking 2 separate reservations is that the tickets will overlap. You'll be paying for the middle day, twice. Unless you don't get a package for the second part of your stay and just buy park tickets for the remaining days of your trip.

Your dining plan must be for the number of nights on your package. But, if you only want it for 6 nights you can book a package for 6 nights, get the correct # of days for your tickets and then book room only for the last two nights. You'll have to check out and check back in but it can be done. Your dining credits will be good from the time you check in until midnight the day you check out of the package reservation.

Yes, you can split meals on the dining plan, we did it with no problem.

Oh that's right, your tickets can be for any amount of days! So there goes the issue of having overlapping tickets.

LOL, you and I were originally posting at the same time, I only know this because we've done it this year!

Just keep in mind you can't spread the dining out for your whole stay if you book the 2 separate reservations. You'd only be able to use it for the first or last reservation depending on which you get the plan with.

tricia.

Dining Plan ends (and you lose all remaining credits) at midnight of the day you check out of the room with the dining plan.

So even if you check in again, the previous dining plan will not carry over.

Disney wants you to eat :)
