Question about dining plan

I'm not a dvc member. If I rent points, I understand that I can get the dining plan. Do I need to have at least a 2 day park ticket to book that? Or can I book the dining plan with no park ticket?

DVC members do not need to purchase park tickets for the dining plan. You will need to let the person you are renting from know you want the dining plan and it must be pre-paid at least 48 hours before your check in date.

Also, there is no free dining with DVC stays on points. You would have to pay the member for the dining plan and they would have to add it at least two days before your arrival. If you wait until 48 hours before, you still have to pay them and they still have to add it. Don't wait that close if you really want to add the dining plan.
