Question about dining plan

We are due to arrive in June on a Saturday and leave the following Wednesday. We have never used the dining plan before. My questions is would we actually get 5 full days of the dining plan? In other words, 5 table service, 5 quick service and 5 snacks, per person during our stay?

The number of meals is based on the number of nights you will be there, not days so if you are trying to plan things out you need to count by nights.

The DDP is based on the number of nights you will be staying there. Since you will be there for 4 nights, you will have 4 TS, 4 CS, and 4 snack credits. You will be able to use these credits until midnight of your departure day (Wednesday at midnight in this case).

True! This works out well if you are arriving late or leaving early, but if you are like us and usually arrive before lunch and then fly out on the last flight of the day, you may have to pay for a couple of meals OOP. We usually do and just try to figure what our cheapest meals will be and then pay OOP for them. If you wait until you just run out of credits, your meals that last day may wind up being your most expensive meals of the trip and you wouldn't want to have to pay for those OOP.

As others have said, it is based on nights. We always end up having to pay for one or two TS since we go to LeCellier and that is a 2 credit meal. We just figure out which two would be the cheapest and pay for them.

Another newbie here - to follow up and make sure I understand:

If we arrive Saturday and depart Wednesday for 4 nights, we get 4 CS, 4 TS, and 4 Snacks to spread out and now I know we can use them til midnight on Wednesday. What about on Saturday - I assume we can spread out the 4 sets of meals we're given over the full five days? Is that correct? Or, do we have to pick either Saturday - Tuesday to use them or Sunday - Wednesday? I hope I'm making sense?

It is linked to the number of nights you are staying, not days..so yes, you have to pick. We rarely use our DDP the first day due to travel, etc. We save it up for the end...

You can do whatever you want during the entire 5 day period - even eat them all on the day you arrive, or save them all until the day you leave.
