Question about Dining Plan with DVC

Hi there!

We will be staying at SSR at the end of this month. We would like to do the Dining Plan and I'm wondering if I can call the front desk at SSR and pay for that in advance? Or do I have to wait and pay when we check-in?

I also have a question about the DDP and DVC. We are toying with the idea of renting points for our trip this year. Can those that are renting points also purchase DDP, or is it for the actual owners? This is all very new to me, and I'm trying to gain all the information possible before deciding to go forth with this.

Renters can indeed purchase DDP (we did it ourselves - we own, but rented some points recently). You will need to have the owner of the points call and add it to your reservation.

To sum it up:

Anyone staying on points at a WDW DVC resort may purchase the Dining Plan.

It must be added to the reservation prior to arrival (can't add it at check in). It must be paid for at check in (can't pay in advnace).

It must be purchased for every member of the party who is 3 years of age or older and it must be purchased for each night of the stay.

There is no minimum stay requirement and no requirment to purchase any kind of ticket.

Renters must ask the owner to add it to the reservation, but the renters pay at check in.

Thanks so much for the information. I had thought this was correct but wanted confimation from the experts. Renting is still a little scary, but I think Im going to go for it.
