We bought some pins from DisneyDirect which have Disney Auctions stamped on the back and instead of one (I guess they are called backings?) they have two. Are these pins we can trade at WDW with a CM or just keep to look at?Two of them are huge pins. They were on sale cheap, but my DD really wanted them to trade. Thanks in advance for answering my newbie questions.

my understanding of the cm trading policy is that your pins to trade must be disney oriented. they are then obligated to trade any pin they have that you want. in most shops at resorts they just have a book that you trade with on the honor system. look through the pages, see what you like and trade one of yours for theirs.

I would suggest looking at the edition size. Usually this is stamped on the back of all the Dsiney Auctions pins. Usually the DA pins are editions of 100, 250, 500, or 1,000. Also, as you describe them, they may be considered "Jumbo" pins. In any event these can be traded with other guests for better pins that the CMs may have.

You might want to look in www.pinpics.com to do searches for more information. One thing that will show up on pinpics is the number of people wanting to trade for them and the number of people who are willing to trade them away. This gives a relative value; a pin with two people willing to trade away and 50 people looking for it is "worth" a lot more than one with 30 looking and 75 willing to trade away.

A lot of pins have two backs instead of the one. If they have the Disney backstamp and they are DA pins, you'll be able to trade them.
