Question about Developer points

Are/were they points from parts of SSR mainly that DVC had because SSR was finished and hadn't sold the points yet. So, with all of them being used and people saying that it's been difficult booking at 7 months out, is what we have really the scenerio that will be from here on in, because those points will be sold, and the owners of those points will be booking using the points that will then be "owned" points and not "developers" points?

Some people have been blaming "developer" points as the reason they can't book. Are/were these "extra" points, or just the sort of points that I described above?

I didn't have any problems using my developers points. SSR and AKV are both nearing being sold out, but I don't believe that the incentives are the real cause with booking issues.

Developer points are not "extra" points, as that would violate the POS. These are "owned" points -- just owned by DVC. Disney can only give away points that they own.

I don't think AKV is anywhere close to sell out.
