Ok so, in my Intro thread I mentioned we're planning an Escape wedding, now for Sept. 2012. We're 100% doing a DP and of course thought Epcot because it's my favorite park and I was bummed I couldn't actually have the ceremony in Italy. However, even with the DP, Italy still won't be possible since it's only available for bigger parties. I know they also have the DP at Magic Kingdom as well as Fantasmic. Do any of you know if Epcot is the only location available to Escape brides?

I wasn't sure if MK and Fantasmic were only available to bigger parties or if it's possible for me to get into one of those. :confused3

As far as I know, you aren't able to have a private dessert party at Magic Kingdom. They have a Wishes dessert party I think almost every night for people that you make reservations for, but as far as having a private one at MK, you would have to ask about that....

I asked about a Fantastic Dessert party and my sales consultant let me know that it's very very risky. If you want the information that she gave me, PM me and I'll pm it to you! :)

The Wishes Fireworks Dessert Party is at Sago Cay Pointe at the Grand Floridian, not at the MK. It is private and outside, and a rather pretty location. There is no per person minimum, you just have to spend at least $500 on food and beverages. If you have less than 20 people, however, you do incur a $75 small party fee.

It is also $500 to pipe in the Wishes music.

That being said, however, it CAN be more economical than an Epcot DP--- you don't, for instance, have to provide transportation for our guests.

We're have a Wishes dessert party, so let me know if you have any more questions!

Aren't there other sections of Italy for smaller parties?

I don't believe so but I could be wrong. I was told Italy was only for the bigger parties and for smaller parties you can choose from Morrocco, Norway, a section of the UK or a section of France.

I didn't know they had one available at GF! I'll have to think about this more. I would love to have one during Wishes but our ceremony will be at SBP so i'm not sure how I could get everyone over to GF unless I made them take the Disney buses lol or provide the transporation.

But you're right.. with the Epcot one, we have the entertainment fee + the per person food charge I think. Hmmmmmm.

We had our dessert party at UK upper for 39 people, and it was absolutely amazing. I wanted the lower terrace because I had heard that the view from upper wasn't as good. However, the view was spectacular!!! I highly recommend this venue! One word of advice...don't pick the package with the most food!!! I had the least expensive option and there was a TON of food! :goodvibes

We are having a memories collection wedding so our DP wasn't "part of the package" we had to arrange it ourselves directly with Disney Catered Events. We have the small patio at Fantasmic! has a min. 10 guests.

Hope that helps!

A lot of people on here tend to knock the Morocco location for Escape DPs. We had ours there, and it was absolutely amazing! Other than the actual getting married part, it was everyone's favorite part of the day. :) Check through some PJs/TRs for pics if you are interested.

A PP posted about going for the least expensive menu for your DP. I actually recommend customizing your menu. Your planner may not mention that this is an option, but it is. Just put together a menu of desserts you would like and your planner should be able to get you a per person price.

Good luck!
