Question about Deposit

A few quick questions for a more experienced DCL cruiser:

1) How much are you required to deposit onto your stateroom account for two people for the 4 night cruise?

2) Can you use Disney Dollars towards this deposit?

You could use the Disney Dollars for the deposit if you were booking it while at WDW or something I guess. I'd rather have a credit card or copy of a check as it seems a lot safer. I don't think a travel agent would take the Disney Dollars because they aren't going to want to mail "cash" in for you. I'd hold on the DD and use them as a room credit once you get onboard.

When I went in early December, I had Disney dollars with me but had to use a credit card at the port, which they preauthorized a charge of $500. (There were two of us, not sure if the preauthorized amount changes with the number of guests in your party.) The credit card isn't charged until the end of the cruise, so if you have Disney dollars, you could use them on the ship at Guest Services to pay off your account (or use your charge, cash, etc.).
