Question about Deluxe resorts and a family of 6

Just out of curiosity I try to figure out what the difference would be for our family to stay at one of the Deluxe resorts instead of POR which will be our upcoming trip.

I'd love to try WL or AKL but this trip, POR is the most responsible choice for us.

When I try online it always says they are not available for the dates/times selected and gives me other options that come to anywhere from $5000-$11000. :scared1:

That's quite an increase to the $2900 I have invested (including my dining package). I mean, obviously I expect it to be more, but not $7000 more.

They always show Villa's. Are there Deluxe resorts that will accommodate my family size that are just normal rooms?

We have 2 adults and a 6, 4, 3, & 1 year old at the time of travel.

POR is the only Mod that will accommodate us. I'm really curious. :wizard:

Even though you can fit five (plus one under the age of three) in POR, do you really want to? I can't imagine that it would be comfortable.

Polynesian, Contemporary, GF, YC, BC should all have rooms that have two queen beds and one day bed. Then you would have to have the pack and play for the baby. Once your littlest one turns three, you'll be looking at the Ft Wilderness Cabins or All Stars Family suites (these both sleep 6). You could always get two rooms at a Value resort. That might be the most comfortable for your family.

When you are trying on line, enter five and not six. If you put in six, you'll get suites. WL doesn't have a standard room that sleeps five plus one.

By the way, when are you going? If you are going at Thanksgiving, that might be the reason why you can't find anything. They might all be booked already.

Hi, yes, all of the deluxes that have a daybed should fit your family with the addition of a crib, for WL or AKL you need a deluxe room or suite to fit 5 plus crib.

Thanks! I played around a little more nd think I got it. I did try the ones you suggested and the BC, YC & BWI all came out to be the same pricing which is about $1400 more than I currently have. Contemporary came out to be only $900 more and the poly $2100 more.

We did do the POR last year and it did work out fine for us. My 3&5 year olds slept in the second bed and my 2 year old on the trundle. The baby went in the crib. It wasn't too cramped, especially considering the amount of time we spent in the room. Now if the kids were older I'm not sure that it would go so smoothly. :cutie:

If I could get a discount code for that time frame that could bring the Deluxe difference down a few bucks, I may try and upgrade, just for the experience. I just hate to spend $1400 more when I know i could be spending $1400 less. Maybe I'm too frugal. :rotfl:
Thanks for the input though, it was very helpful.
P.S. We are arriving at WDW the Sunday after thanksgiving. We will be spending the previous week in Florida visiting family for the holiday. :wizard:

Thank you. Still couldn't come up with anything for WL or AKL which are the two I'd most like to try. :upsidedow :wizard:
