Question about decorations..

DH and I are planning our next trip home (not til Dec 2012 )
When we were at BLT last month we noticed that someone had placed Halloween lights? around the balcony of their room - DH mentioned something about possibly decorating our balcony with Christmas lights for our next trip but I could have sworn that I read someplace that having lights on the balcony, etc. was prohibited.

Can anyone tell me if they know whether you can actually do this or not?

DW and I have done our balcony at OKW during Christmas some years. We have gone between Thanksgiving and Christmas every year since '93. Never been told to remove them.

We stayed at the Treehouses at SSR last Halloween and we decorated our deck with orange lights. We were right next to the boat dock and the boat CM's pointed out our treehouse frequently...

AKL/AKV don't allow things on the balcony's due to the animals but all the other resorts do.

We have decorated out balcony at OKW each year that we were there for Christmas as well as having a tree in the room. Everything fit in a rolling duffle and since we fly SW we didn't have any extra baggage charges. Don't know what the set up is at BLT but don't forget an extension cord that will reach a fair distance into the room.

We had a strand of Mickey head Christmas lights on our balcony the year we went for Christmas. You see them around the resorts - not a ton, but some. I think it does make it fun for the holidays, even though I am generally against decorating your door other times of the year and all that other stuff that people do.

I bring pumpkin Mickey lights and ususally put on window/door not on balcony, I put one of those garlands on the balcony and Mickey Halloween clings on doors too...just went to the Dollar store and got a full door decoration for the hall door...OH have to remember tape..

They really do not want you taping thing up. Tape can damage things.

We have put little lights on our balcony railing at OKW several times in December. We just wrapped them around, so no need to use anything to fasten them. OKW has outdoor outlets on each of the balconies too, so super easy to do with a small extension cord.
