I thought I read somewhere that Disney had changed the DDP rules around a bit to give you more flexibility with the QS credits on the plan. Typically a credit would include 1 beverage, 1 entree, and 1 dessert, but now you could substitute a side for either the beverage or dessert maybe? I am wondering, for example, if I go to Flame Tree and use a credit would I now be able to get a drink, entree, and substitute onion rings in place of the dessert?

Someone on another forum went there and got the full slab of ribs and subbed both the dessert and drink for two sides of pulled pork fries. Enough to feed three people for one QS credit

you can sub drink and/or dessert for anything else also marked with the DDP snack logo

Wow so you can essentially order one entree and 2 sides, regardless of the price, instead of the drink and dessert? Does Disney realize how much money they lose if someone subs 2 sides of pulled pork cheese fries @ $6.49 each compared to a $4.59 cup of mousse or $3.69 fountain drink? How is that allowed lol!

most people are not doing that. most people are ordering the meal as it comes I suspect. The order of pulled pork cheese fries probably makes them a dollar to make anyway, they are not losing money. Some people have reported that they were not allowed to sub the pulled pork fries even though it is a snack credit and that is how the program is outlined in the literature too. you may or may not feel like fighting that - you can always get it with a snack credit though.
