Question about DCL discounts for DVC owners

So I got an email that DCL is once again offering DVC members a discount on a Sept cruise. Not sure of the date, maybe 9/14?

So, I'm not planning on cruising anytime soon, but the email prompted a question. I only own resale points. So I know that I cannot cruise on points, nor can I go on the "Member Cruise" even if I want to pay cash for it. But when DCL offers a discount, do I, as a resale owner qualify for it? I would think I should, as it would be booked direct with DCL, with no involvement from MS. Anybody know for sure?

The discount is for cash bookings only. You will find that Disney can change the restrictions when they need to fill a ship. :sad2:

How do you get on a list for the email deals? I never get them. I am a member and have registered on all the sites...

Cool. So I know for the future. You know, just in case I can take advantage of any of these offers. ;)

Yeah it is a great deal we took advantage of the dvc discount three day cruise that sails in two weeks. Wish the kids didn't have school:(

I would even test those waters and try using points. I wonder if the ships continue with low occupancy if even that rule gets relaxed.

I did not get a email. Can anyone tell me the price of it?

The majestic Disney Fantasy- the newest and very popular ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet - is offering Disney Vacation Club Members, and your friends & families, a 7-Night Western Caribbean voyage sailing out of Port Canaveral, Fla., on Sept. 14, 2013, in a Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah for just $945 a person (that's only $135 a night).

Fine print:
Offer not available on a Vacation Points basis. Members may book a maximum of three Staterooms per Membership ID number. Full payment is required at the time of booking and is non-refundable. Offer valid on Disney Fantasy sailings from Port Canaveral, FL on 9/14/13 for categories 04A-07A, subject to availability. Rates are in US dollars, per person, and based on double occupancy. Rate excludes Government Taxes and Fees of approximately $80 per person for 7-Night Caribbean sailings (subject to change). This offer cannot be combined with any other offers, discounts or onboard credits. Must mention booking code DVC_CASH at time of booking. Offer is not combinable with Vacation Points. Offer is only available for Disney Vacation Club Members and their travel parties. Membership will be verified prior to sailing. Must fax a copy of Membership ID card within 48 hours of booking to 407-566-7587

Has anyone called to see how much it wiil be for the 3rd/4th person? I might call later, sounds like acruise we might be interested in doing.

Does this mean we can't book for friends/family? It seems a member has to be present :(

It's a member and travel party perk, not a friends/family perk. There is a VGT (Guaranteed Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah) rate for the same cruise.

Rack rate for that is $3k. Its a great discount :thumbsup2

Can you prove that please . Cause seems like a significant discount compared to the cruise I took a few years ago .

You have to sign into the member site and add your email to the list . I did it a while ago so I don't have specifics but you have to request it on the member site

Sorry...should have clarified...i was comparing a cruise for 2 people in a deluxe veranda is $3k vs. $2k with this deal. I used two people because they offer said $945 per person assuming double occupancy. 33% discount is a great deal :)
