Question about Davenport, FL or the WestHaven Community

Im not sure if this is the right place to post this, but everything I seen regarding accomodations was either for Disney or hotels.

We alway rent a private pool home when we go to Disney and we normally stay in Kissimmee. We LOVE that area.

This time around, we've found a really nice home in Davenport, FL in the WestHaven Community. Both Kissimmee and Davenport are about 15 mins from Disney....which is fine.....but what about things like shopping?

Is there a super Wal-Mart in Davenport? Many restaurants? When I MapQuested it, it just looks like a desolate place with very few streets....which makes me think there is no shopping/dining.

Would appreciate any comments from those who live there or have visited there. Thanks!

That is also where we are staying and there is dining and a publix right on our way to our house so i am sure there is shopping and dining close by as its not too far from the I95 i think its called and the outlet malls are also close by....

We have stayed several times in Highlands Reserve in Davenport. They have built a new Publix and there are also other places, restaurants etc. You will no problem finding everything you need.

We stayed in The Hamlet at Westhaven last year. It was our favourite location! Just a couple of mins from the I4 - there is a publix and walgreens and a McDs, I think, here. We went (far too often) to the Walmart situated north on the Us27 which took about 10 -15mins and occasionally we would pop into the one near Downtown Disney. There were a couple of dining places on the US27 too and it really isn't that far from the 192. We would def. stay here again.
