In my area, the only test available is the Lab Based PCR Test which takes 48 hours samples sent out). Since results must be uploaded into Safe Passage website by midnight prior to embarkation day, if I'm looking at the correctly, that doesn't give me enough time. Right? Is anybody else finding it difficult to find the other test options?

There are no pharmacies (CVS, Walgreens, etc.) that do rapid NAAT or rapid antigen tests either in-store or at their drive-thru window?

You can order proctored self-tests either from the safepassage website (Inspire Diagnostics) or any other provider. These are virtually monitored rapid antigen self-tests and you will get email or fax with link to results that can be uploaded.

You can still get tested at the terminal, but you have to pay for testing for cruises departing on or after June 7th.

Have we seen pricing on those when ordered direct from Safe Passage? I know they published pricing for port testing but I haven't seen it if you order from Inspire ahead of time.

That is checking Walgreen and CVS in my area. I was thinking about trying an urgent care, they do testing (not sure which one) but it would be $150/per person.

There aren't any convenient testing places here, either. The closes rapid testing site is a Walgreens that's about 30 minutes away and in another state.

And I live in a city with ~120k people!

I’m in a similar boat, traveling 2.5 days prior to sailing with little time to get tested (school orientation all day). If we are sailing on 7/21, upload by midnight on 7/20, do we get tested at a location with 2 hour turnaround on 7/18 or 19th? Dumb question I realize but don’t want to mess it up. Thanks

19th would be 2 days before sailing. So you could test on 7/19 or 7/20 for a 7/21 cruise, but need results uploaded by midnight 7/20.

Thank you, that’s my toughest day to get. I think I’ll call and inquire about the mail in test as a back up.

Its just so awkward. We fly out 2 days before our June cruise, flight at 5:30pm...so by Noon that day we're going to try to test at a Walgreens that supposedly has NAAT tests with 2hr results. I'm hoping to get DD22 a 90 day recovery letter since she tested positive on Monday...but the college doesn't understand what she wants/why she wants it (sounds like they think she wants a travel recovery letter to go home and they don't do those.) She hasn't even gotten access to her positive Covid test yet...no messages tab on her patient portal. I don't know if it's just because it's senior week so some of the normal tabs are gone or what. It's so weird. I was just hoping she could do it all there since she'll probably need a Dr appt to get a letter otherwise and we have high deductible insurance...so we'd have to pay for a visit. Ug. Just too much craziness right before her college graduation and DD18s senior prom this weekend. Was not happy to learn we have to get tested or pay to test...

For proctored, people on my cruise social media site have recommended and used optimum (https://store.optum.com/shop/produc...YR21PbDj_Gpe6CBR6W_f3qS7YwsSZ-OrH8vkIeeMyHjsQ) and eMed (https://www.emed.com/). They send the rapid antigen tests to your home, and you can have them view you taking the test through wifi/cellular data from anywhere. They are supposed to come back very quickly, less than an hour, sometimes within minutes with the results. They give you the necessary documentation to upload to Safe Passage. I think eMed is available 24/7, so you just log into their website; no appointment is necessary. I think eMed is the way we will go, since we will be arriving in Orlando a week before that same cruise.

I used Optum and eMed for a Princess cruise I did in November. It was the same two days prior that Disney is moving to. We sailed on a Monday, tested on a Saturday morning, and it was super easy to do. I highly recommed that (and as I recall I received the tests in the mail quite quickly after ordering them too).

I feel for you, you have a lot going on in a short amount of time! Looking forward to finally getting on and relaxing. Enjoy the graduation and prom festivities, try and relax some!

Thanks for this information. I just got off phone with safe passage people and we need to get tested either 19th or 20th for a 7/21 cruise. I’m thinking the pre-ordered test to take with us and do during orientation is the best option. I think you get 3 days with that option as well.

I ordered from emed two days ago and they came today. (A pack of six costs $150 plus shipping and tax). We don’t sail until 7/21…but I knew I would worry about having these until July if I didn’t go ahead and order!

Good idea! Does the telehealth person monitoring the swabbing just look at the results card to verify positive or negative and then authorize a certified test result?

Are those accepted by Disney for unvaccinated pre-cruise testing? Disney says that test has to be a NAAT/PCR test, or they offer the Inspire Diagnostic proctored antigen test as an option.

Or is this planning ahead for the vaccinated pre-cruise testing after June 7?

Antigen tests are not accepted for unvaccinated pre-cruise testing. Not now, not after June 7. That test must be NAAT/PCR.

Only for the newly changed pre-cruise testing for vaccinated guests. As @Kwami said, antigen tests are not allowed for unvaccinated guests.
